Biography
Uyen (Sally) Ly is a PhD Student in Sociology at York University, Canada, and a translator, researcher, educator, Marxist-feminist from Vietnam, living in Toronto, Canada. Her work engages critically with media, politics, and social reproduction, with a particular focus on Marxist theory, feminist thought, and labour struggles.

She has translated major Marxist works into Vietnamese, including Selected Writings by Marcello Musto (2023), Pantomime Terror by John Hutnyk (2025), and The Last Year of Karl Marx by Marcello Musto (2026), contributing to the circulation of critical theory in Vietnam. She translates Rosa Luxemburg into Vietnamese, and converts Vietnamese documents to MIA.

Her research explores the intersections of political economy, sociology, and workers" movements, with an emphasis on social reproduction, gender, and contemporary forms of labour. She has published in international academic volumes, including:
